About

This is my blog about being alive and in the world. About being a mother. About reading, writing, and music. About running. About yoga (which kind of saved my life).

“If It Hurts” is a reference to what they say about nursing: If it hurts, you’re doing it wrong. Not true. Even if you’re spot on, at the beginning, it freaking hurts. How could it not?

I’ve found motherhood to be about emotions, many of them painful, all of them normal and universal. Life is an incredibly emotional experience if you’re open to it. If it feels intense, chances are good you’re doing it right.
